I’m delighted to share that I am part in a special collective exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Art Gallery that first welcomed my work in Malta, the Christine x Art Gallery. This time the Gallery has partnered with 1926 La Galerie, a boutique hotel on Old Theatre Street in Valletta therefore two parallel shows will mark this milestone: the 50x50 exhibition in Sliema and the 20x20 exhibition at La Galerie. The shows respectively opened on November 7 and November 13, and will both run until December 24, carrying the spirit of art and celebration all the way to Christmas.
For the occasion I am showing my work at the La Galerie location as part of the 20x20 show, exhibiting three pieces from my brand new collection disruption, a series still in progress and making its debut right in Malta. Each limited edition print, crafted with archival pigment inks and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, explores cityscapes both familiar and unreal in the eternal city, places where perception is challenged and reality gently suspended. A collage of sorts, where the clashing elements in each image break every rule of photography, blurred ghostly human figures sit near nearly ethereal, improbable sharps objects and oversized animals, mixed them all together, completely ignoring viewer's expectations.
This exhibition feels like a homecoming: my first Maltese group show was in 2021 at the Sliema gallery, and returning now for this anniversary celebration fills me with gratitude and joy. Once again I owe heartfelt thanks to curator Christine Xuereb for believing in my work and for curating such a meaningful artistic dialogue across these two amazing spaces. To exhibit alongside so many talented artists, in such an inspiring setting, is a true privilege, and I can’t wait to share this new chapter with everyone who visits.

Sono felice di condividere la mia partecipazione a una speciale mostra collettiva che celebra il 20° anniversario della Galleria d'Arte che per prima ha accolto il mio lavoro a Malta, la Christine x Art Gallery. Questa volta la Galleria ha stretto una collaborazione con 1926 La Galerie, un boutique hotel in Old Theatre Street a La Valletta, e per segnare questo traguardo verranno presentate due esposizioni parallele: la mostra 50x50 a Sliema e la mostra 20x20 a La Galerie. Le esposizioni sono state inaugurate rispettivamente il 7 ed il 13 novembre, e resteranno aperte fino al 24 dicembre, portando lo spirito di arte e celebrazioni fino a Natale.
Per l’occasione espongo il mio lavoro nella sede di La Galerie come parte della mostra 20x20, presentando tre opere della mia nuova collezione disruption, una serie su cui sto ancora lavorando e che vede il suo debutto proprio in questo evento. Ogni stampa è in edizione limitata, è realizzata con inchiostri a pigmenti e accompagnata da un certificato di autenticità; il tema è una esplorazione dei paesaggi urbani della città eterna, familiari e irreali al tempo stesso, luoghi in cui la percezione viene messa alla prova e la realtà è sospesa. Una sorta di collage, dove gli elementi in conflitto infrangono ogni regola fotografica: figure umane sfocate e spettrali convivono con oggetti nitidi quasi eterei e animali sovradimensionati, mescolati insieme, ignorando completamente ogni aspettativa dell'osservatore.
Questa mostra ha per me il gusto di un ritorno a casa: la mia prima collettiva maltese risale al 2021, nella sede di Sliema, e tornare ora per questa occasione mi riempie di gratitudine e gioia. Devo ancora una volta un enorme ringraziamento alla curatrice Christine Xuereb per aver creduto nel mio lavoro e per aver creato un dialogo artistico così significativo tra questi due splendidi spazi: esporre accanto a tanti artisti talentuosi, in un contesto così stimolante, è un vero privilegio, e non vedo l’ora di condividere questo nuovo capitolo con tutti coloro che visiteranno la mostra.
